Air travelers are fuming as American Airlines and other carriers cancel flights to inspect wiring on MD-80s. I've had some minor experience with cancelled flights, and it is an inconvenience. But no where near as inconvenient as dropping from 30,000 feet and smashing into the ground.
I am flying next week, on American. While I hope this is all over by then, if it isn't, oh well. Airlines don't close for the weekend. They don't have holidays. They fly every day. There isn't a down time for them to do what they are doing this week.
Please be sure to check my plane, okay?
