GOP goes for Herstory!

Just days after the Democratic Party shoved aside its best candidate for president, then the selected nominee snubbed her as a VP pick, the GOP is putting Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin on the ticket with John McCain.

The blatant sexism of the Dems, of leaving the smartest and best candidate sidelined, and oh by the way, she's a woman... is drawn sharply into focus today by this brilliant move.

Not since Geraldine Ferraro in 1984, a looonnnngggg time ago, has a woman been on the ticket. For the GOP to do it this election, days after the Dems forced Hillary Clinton into degrading acts in the name of unity, shows once again how smart they are when it comes to winning the presidency.

Not only is Palin a huge asset to the ticket, she represents a chance for this election to truly be historic. She is a reformer in her own right, having taken on, and defeated, the corrupt Alaskan government that preceded her own. She's an amazing choice.

I find myself excited today in a way I haven't been since the end of the primaries when Hillary was winning landslides against Obama. But in this case, Palin's party wants her, whereas Clinton's worked against her. .

For the first time in my life, I may be voting Republican.
