Obama AWOL

"We're making this up as we go and it is a waste of money. It is a broken process, and the president, as far as I'm concerned, has been AWOL on providing leadership on something as important as this."

Sen. Lindsey Graham had some sharp words about Obama's appearances on 5 network news shows Tuesday to push the plan, and his op-ed in the Post today with its dire warnings of disaster.

"Scaring people is not leadership. Writing an editorial that if you don't pass this bad bill we're going to have disaster -- we've had enough presidents trying to scare people to make bad decisions," Graham said.

"I like President Obama, but he is not leading. Having lunch is not leading ... and doing TV interviews is not leading."

Obama's dark words in the op-ed are reminiscent of Bush a few short months ago, who issued his own dire warnings while trying to ram his stimulus package through - a package that has done virtually NOTHING to stimulate the economy.

And it doesn't help when Nancy Pelosi announces that 500 million jobs a month will be lost, when there are only 300 million citizens in the country.

Obama is finding out that there is a vast difference between soaring promises on the campaign trail, and the reality of governing. He can't unite the Democrats. He can't get one single Republican to vote for this mess of a bill. While the Democrats pretend that pork-laded mutation is viable legislation, the Republicans sound like the voice of reason.

Three weeks in and Obama is stumbling badly. It's going to be a long four years...

At the National Prayer Breakfast, Barack Obama declared that he views Tony Blair as a great example of leadership. Says it all really.
