Just got an email from the Democratic Party, to let me know that those people protesting health care are not really actual concerned citizens. Oh no my friends. They are "anti-reform mobs"...
That's right, "anti-reform mobs". That is what the president's party has labeled Americans who don't want their taxes raised to pay for Obama's health care plan.
We've just seen how woefully Obama underjudged response to the "clunker" package. Why on earth would we believe his administration has believable real world figures on health care?
Read the quote at the left of this blog, posted only 2 days ago.
Here's what Jen O'Malley Dillon tells us, on behalf of Obama and the Dems, in this little email offering:
"These "grassroots protests" are being organized and largely paid for by Washington special interests and insurance companies who are desperate to block reform. They're trying to use lies and fear to break the President and his agenda for change.'
This is the SAME RHETORIC used to pooh pooh the tea party protests. Anyone who isn't 100% "yes we can" is a front for special interests. But look at the REAL ISSUE this email is about - breaking the president's agenda...
How dare the Democratic Party label Americans who are exercising the Right we still have for Freedom of Speech by smearing them as a "mob".
This email also targets House Minority Leader John Boehner, making him the de facto head of the mob. Disgusting, but a quintessential Obama ploy.
We've seen these tactics from the Obama campaign many times in the past two years (and don't kid yourself, this may say it is from the Democratic Party but it is already all about re-electing Obama). As his favorable ratings fall, they will continue casting about for a villian to rally people against. Better a mob they form, eh?
I have contacted by representatives to instruct them to oppose Obama's insane health insurance pipedream. But I have little faith that they will dare to stand up for their constituents and go against the Obama machine.
Not yet anyway.
