Another NY Governor Facing Charges

David Paterson only sits in the Governor's chair because Eliot Spitzer frequented prostitues and got caught. Now Paterson may face criminal charges, and heinous ones at that. According to The New York Times Paterson shielded a close aide, David Johnson, from charges of domestic violence. NYT reported that Paterson, besides calling the alleged victim himself, personally directed two aides to call her shortly before she stopped pursuing domestic violence charges against Johnson.

He told one of the aides, press secretary Marissa Shorenstein, to ask the woman to say that no violence took place during the incident, according to a Times source.

Paterson just announced he wouldn't seek election to the job when polls showed he didn't have a snowball's chance in hell of winning an election.

I am disgusted with im and will be calling his office and demanding he resign. There is no excuse, NO EXCUSE, for covering up assault. No victim of violence should ever have the perpetrator's boss call them and pressure them to deny the attack that left them beaten. Then follow up calls by others tasked by the same boss to continue the pressure.

And for what? Politics? Disgusting. Criminal. I hope he gets charged and it ruins him.
